Android KitKat 4.4! All New features

Here are the all new features of Android KitKat 4.4: Check them out and say what's your favourite!

Starting with the Nexus 5 all Google devices will get the updates within this month.

Ok Google: A feature first showcased in the Motorola's Moto X finds its way into native Android. Just say, "Ok Google" to activate the phone without touching it. Users can launch a voice search, send a text, get driving directions or play a song with the voice command. ( Already in 4.3)

 Full-screen album art: On Android KitKat album art will display in a full-screen format on the lock screen while listening to music or streaming via Chromecast.( Need Album Art Grabber first :P  )

(Best Feature according to me!) Immersive mode: The new immersive mode gives a full screen experience hiding all controls while reading a book, watching a movie or playing a game. Swiping on the edges brings back the status bar and navigation button.

(No controls at the side/bottom=More screen space and better experience)

 Improved multitasking: Google says Android 4.4 betters system performance by optimising memory and improving the touchscreen so that it responds faster and more accurately. (Awesome gets awesomer)

 Priority contacts: The new phone app in Android KitKat automatically prioritises contacts based on the people users talk to the most.  (Good)

 Extended search: On Android 4.4 users can also search for nearby places and businesses or people in their Google Apps domain. ( Expected this after the policy update, means your +1's will be visible to ALL your friends)

Improved caller ID For calls from numbers not listed in the user's contacts, Android 4.4 will look for matches from businesses with a local listing on Google Maps.  (Helpful)

SMS, MMS integrated into Hangouts: The new Hangouts app on Android 4.4 also displays SMS and MMS messages. (Hangouts will give stiff competition to all messaging apps after this)

Emoji on Google Keyboard: Android KitKat brings in the popular Emoji characters to the default Android keyboard.  (Emoji's everywhere now)

Printing: Android 4.4 allows users to print photos, documents, and web pages from their phone or tablet. Users can print to any printer connected to Google Cloud Print, to HP ePrint printers, and to other printers that have apps in the Google Play Store. (No wires, no file transfers required)

Will be bundled with Android 4.4 Kitkat!

It says Coming Soon on the Indian site, available in the US, UK and Canada.
So if you really want the Google Nexus 5 go and ask a relative to get it over!

Otherwise wait for some weeks and you never know it might be launched soon in your country. Hopefully Google would have it's shipping problem of Nexus 4 solved by now. A Nexus 5 finally! The phone everyone has been waiting for!

Project Ara! Everything you need to know

Project Ara has been started by Motorola aimed at making modular phones.

It means you can buy separate components and use and combine them as you wish.

After initial efforts by Phonebloks to put the idea of modular design out there, Motorola is putting it's money behind it and gong forward with developing modular designs.

The Google Nexus 5 is about to be launched on the play store (Not in India though).
Release Date- 1st November 2013 (USA)
Price- 350$ (off contract) (16GB Model)

My Suggestion:
 People ( apart from those in the US) should wait for some info from LG or Google about the launch of the much awaited Android flagship device in their country.

However , if there is no inkling about any launch by the first week December then consider getting it through the portals mentioned above, but be very careful while ordering through them at all times. Don't import it if anything seems fishy there!!
